A new chef is on board at the Holiday Inn Fresno Dtwn–Convention Center and is ready to make the dining experience a memorable one not only for hotel guests, but for the local community in Downtown Fresno. A Ritz Carlton and Marriot veteran, Chef Chuck Nelson arrived at Fresno in April, bringing with him a wealth of culinary and leadership experience in the hotel sector. Prior to becoming the Executive Chef here at the Holiday Inn Downtown Fresno, he served as the Executive Chef of The Table at Crestwood in Boone, NC and the Storie Street Grille in Blowing Rock, NC.
Chuck has been featured in various publications including Charlotte Weekly, Charlotte Observer, Anonymous Gourmet, and Extremeschefs.com Additionally he is a past winner of the Fire on the Rock Chef’s Challenge, Charlotte Taste of the Nation Award and Best Dish in North Carolina.
Chef Nelson recieved his degree in culinary science from Le Courdon Bleu in Scottsdale, AZ. Chef Nelson is passionate about forming relationships with local farms to produce fresh and exquisite dining experiences, that are unique to the area.
